Nestled in the NICU
Creating a community of support for families that are experiencing a NICU stay
Nestled in the NICU started as a way for our founder to process postpartum emotions that come along with an unexpected birth story and a neonatal intensive care unit stay. Our story started in February 2020 when Liam was born at 34 weeks after a diagnosis of severe preeclampsia. We went to the hospital to be checked, completely in denial that I would be induced. I went to the hospital with the only fuzzy flip flops I could fit into in February and my phone charger-- not a single hospital bag packed. Liam was born weighing just 3 lbs 14 oz. He spent almost a month in the NICU where we feel very blessed to have had the medical team that took such great care of Liam.
Nestled in the NICU started as Love From Liam, a program established to provide support and a care package for families, and has evolved and grown into a community of support for families across Colorado. It is our mission to provide a community of support to families that are in the midst of a NICU stay.
Our care package program is exactly that- a bag filled with love from our family to yours. The bags help to transport anything you need and have items that we wish we would have had during an unexpected stay in the hospital such as (but are not limited to):
